Dark Knight #1
It was strange, seeing this person before me as a friend, when he was once my enemy. "A strange power called out to me and before I knew it, here I was. Who would've thought I'd be here today, sharing a drink with an old foe?" We must have been thinking alike. I smiled and it felt as though he smiled back. "I'm just a soul, trapped in an empty suit of armor." Because of this, he was only able to look at the drink that sat in front of him. "There was a time, where my only purpose was to defeat you, but..." "I'm happy, at the idea of existing again in this world. Isn't that pathetic?" But isn't that a decent, human emotion? Surely, such a desire is proof that you're alive. When I said this, the knight let out a loud, boom of a laugh. "Human!? Bwahaha... Me, acting like a human? Now that's funny!" "I probably got that from hanging around you guys all the time. Although there were some fights with you that really got me seething." He clenched his fist. "That being said, it was because of that, that I caused you a deal of trouble and pain..." Was he apologizing? I couldn't hide my look of surprise. "Y'know, even though we were rivals, I've always thought of you as a worthy opponent." I couldn't see his face, but in the tone of his voice, I could hear his excitement at being able to fight side-by-side.

Dark Knight #2
"I was a human once. I was a proud knight. And I trained everyday to improve my abilities." "One day, an insanely powerful beast appeared, and it was up to us knights to take him out." "But in the end... I wasn't able to protect the things I held dear." I asked him why he became a dark knight, and he replied... "I understood at that point, that human knights are weak." "I want the power to protect the things that matter. My desire became my curse, it consumed what I was. This curse extended my lifespan, and so I wander this land alone." "I remember when the power of darkness showed itself to me... I reached out for this devastating power, that called out to me." He laughed meakly. He had thrown away what had made him human. He discarded his pride as a knight, in order to obtain magical strength. But what did brandishing such power earn him in the end...? I listened carefully, and let him know my thoughts on the matter. I told him that his power is useful now. That it isn't a waste. That by fighting together, he can once again regain his pride as a knight. "Hmph. You are an arrogant sort." "...But, thank-you. Thank-you, for giving me this opportunity to fight as a knight." He seemed to smile as he said this. He picked up his drink, and held it up towards me. "Anyway, to our success on the battlefield." I raised my drink to meet his and we clinked our glasses, to our mutual agreement.
