Trivia[]
The Hecatoncheires (Greek: Ἑκατόγχειρες Hekatonkheires 'Hundred-Handed Ones'), also called the Centimanes /ˈsɛntɪˌmeɪnz/ (Latin: Centimani) or Hundred-Handers, were figures in an archaic stage of Greek mythology, three giants of incredible strength and ferocity that surpassed all of the Titans, whom they helped overthrow. Their name derives from the Greek ἑκατόν (hekaton, "hundred") and χείρ (cheir, "hand"), "each of them having a hundred hands and fifty heads" (Bibliotheca 1.1). Hesiod's Theogony (624, 639, 714, 734–35) reports that the three Hecatoncheires became the guards of the gates of Tartarus. The Hundred-Handed-Ones are "giants" of great storms and hurricanes.

Lumian Introduction |
---|
"I, I'm terribly sorry for shouting all of a sudden. But there's something I need to report to Prince-sama as soon as possible, and..." "... Actually, right now our country is being attacked by a horde of giants." "The ones leading the giants are the Gigas, and... the resurrected Divine Beast Hecatoncheir." "Ever since the Hecatoncheir were revived, we were investigating the Hecatoncheir with our country's survey corps in preparation for the looming giant threat." "According to an ancient document that was discovered, the Hecatoncheir were originally said to be three giant brothers hostile to the Heavens." "The blue-skinned third brother is usually calm and collected, and an expert stone-thrower to the point he's capable of bombarding multiple enemies in a single volley." "The red-skinned second brother is reckless and headstrong. While he's bad at throwing stones, his colossal strength is boasted to be the mightiest among giants, and it sounds like he's capable of hammering down the enemy before his eyes with boulders." "And the black-skinned eldest brother is the greatest among these brothers; he boasts the abilities of both siblings." "The Heavens noticed the strength of those powerful giants, and captured the three brothers in a trap and imbued the power of the Divine Beasts in order to change them into the Lord's vanguard..." "... However, the Hecatoncheir resisted the divine power they were imbued with and seemed to have made that power their own." "And it was recorded in the document that what was born was both Divine Beast and giant, 'Divine Beast Hecatoncheir'." "Among the giants, we've also seen for the first time what appears to be giants shrouded in flames." "Right now, Helene is doing whatever she can to keep the power of the giants in check. But it's only a matter of time until even she..." "Please, Prince-sama. I beg of you. Please lend your strength in rescuing our country!" |
